Spectacular Spring Schedule

spring-schedule

The Spring Schedule is HERE! Take a look at and save these dates! The 9-week Session runs April 29-June 30. We will be closed July 1-7 and then reopen for a 7-week session July 8-August 25.

You can also print out a schedule with this handy link.

Registration for classes might look a little bit different, but we still have the same options from which you can choose depending on your lifestyle!

Option 1: Commit to Your Practice.  This choice is for the student who wants consistency in his or her practice.  The Student wants the benefits of studentship and developing a relationship with his or her teacher and the support of other classmates, the kula, or community.  Choosing this option guarantees that the student will have a space in the class, and that the class will continue through the entire session.  As always, we are very flexible, and it a student who chooses this more traditional plan should ever need to miss a class, he or she is welcome to make up the missed class at another time during the week, and may even do so in advance.  The student who chooses this option is considered a “registered” student and can receive discounts on drop-in classes and some workshops and master classes.  To register for classes online for our next 9-week session, here are the few simple steps to get you there:

1.  Go to our MINDBODY site.
2.  Click on “Classes” tab.   (Make sure you see the classes that begin the week of April 29.)  Choose the one your  want (or the first of several.)
3.  Click “Sign-Up Now”
4.  Register from this date forward and then “Enroll”
5. Choose payment choice: 9-week session 1 class/week, 2 classes/week, etc.  You will choose subsequent classes later.
6.  Proceed to check out
7.  Go back to your account and add subsequent classes.  You’re done!

Option 2:  Drop-In.  This option suits the student whose lifestyle limits his or her ability to practice on any one particular day or time but still seeks the benefits of Yoga, Pilates, or Groove taught by well-trained and devoted teachers in a safe and nurturing environment.  The drop-in student can either pay for each class individually, purchase a 5 or 10 class pass or even an unlimited monthly pass, giving students with a less predictable schedule more flexibility.

1.  Go to our MINDBODY site.
2.  Click “Online Store/Payment”
3.  Choose 5-class pass, 10-class pass, drop-in, etc.
4.  Click “No” Reservation at this Time (unless you are dropping into one class.)
5.  Check out.  You’re done!

May 1-31

12 Power Yoga Class Challenge
There is nothing more powerful and life changing than a dedicated yoga practice. This May, The Center will be offering up a challenge to all interested students: Take 12 or more Power Yoga classes between May 1st and May 31st. While all yoga is good yoga, this challenge is designed to shift your vision of your self physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually to new heights. The challenge averages out to 3 classes per week, and you can always do more than that, in fact during this new session, 5 Power Yoga classes a week will be offered. The intent, however, is to see your transformation over the month, so please don’t feel rushed to race to the “finish”. The only catch: Classes not labeled “Power Yoga” as taught by Taylor Evans do not count. The reason being, that anyone who signs up for the challenge and successfully completes it will receive free admission to Foundations of Freedom, a 2 ½ hour master class taught by Taylor on June 2nd fro 10-12:30. This workshop will focus on expanding the flow of Power Yoga to new depths and new heights, introducing asanas that are always possible in the flow of vinyasa, but not always utilized, in order to access greater strength, balance, and freedom through proper integration. Don’t wait, you are ready now.

Join Taylor for this 2 ½ hour master class workshop designed to break open what it means to practice “Power Yoga”. Starting with the foundations and building up, this energizing and expansive workshop will put your hands, and maybe even your feet, in the air. Designed on the principles of integration and alignment set forth by Baron Baptiste, this workshop will aim to expand your perspective on what’s possible for yourself both on and off the mat. Arm balances, inversions, and just about everything else, will be covered. Previous yoga experience recommended, a light heart and open mind required. See you there.

Meditate with the H’Burg Zen Group

meditaionmudra(Monday evenings 8:30-9, Friday afternoons 12:30-1)
We sit in silence for half an hour, and then stand when the town clock rings, bowing to the group on the final stroke. Our minimalist format can accommodate practitioners from a variety of traditions. (For beginner/remedial/Zen instruction, please arrange to meet with Myoku beforehand or afterwards.) No charge; any donations accepted on behalf of The Center.
Myoku Anne Lorimer
Anne has been meditating since 2005 (which isn’t very long as these things go). First trained at the Soto Zen Portland Buddhist Priory, she has also benefited from various Vipassana workshops. In October 2012 she was ordained by Teido Bill Stephens as a Rinzai Zen lay nun in the Myoshin-ji (Kyoto) temple lineage, and given the dharma name Myoku (‘wondrous emptiness’).email: hybridgoldfish@gmail.com
